Found myself in benaras on 5th March, 2018. Varanasi or Benares of yore still has a surreal quality to it. It pulls me for I get connected to the past with centuries of uninterrupted march of civilization on the banks of Ganga. I can almost feel the magical and mystical quality of the city. It has eighty eight ghats and they are by and large clean. I enjoy the evening sitting on the banks of Assi ghat listening to the bajan of Shiva as the sun sets down and brings a calm to the mind and the environment.
