We were earlier stayig in the city as we in the University called it for the Gachi Bowli area where our University was established in 2800 acres of land was in the outskirsta and it was a jungle in 1992 when we settled into our new home here. In 2002, we purchased our thord new car a New Honda Civic. We had first had a Padmini Premier and then went for the French car Peugout. We took these pictures in Januury 2nd , 2002.
We always made it a point to take a family picture with the children on our wedding anniversary. This was before the children left home. It was nice to see our progress and development down the years. We started when Tarun Varun were nine months old and continued till they left home to study in Professional Colleges .
We had purchased a small plot of land of about 500 Sq. yard. This was an open space and children loved going here and running around the open space. Today, there is no open spaces here but back then in 2002, it was just wilderness.
On 6 th January 2002, I was invited along with a few other prominent women in Hyderabad like, Shanta Sinha, Suneetha krishnana, Jamuna, Amita Dhanda , Lalita to meet with British Plime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie Blair when visited Hyderabad . The Chief Minister Chandra babu Naidu was also present at the meeting. This meeting was organized by DFID and the British Council and it focused prlmarily on gender issues and DFID's role in AndhraPradesh . It also discussed developmental activities in Hyderabad DFID's role in dry land agriculture, adoption of children, and domestic violence. It was very interesting and we had a lot of fun. We were asked to collect at 10.00 and next to our room was a room filled with Cofee, tea, soft drinks and a large number of snacks. We then received a minute to minute report the flight has landed. They have come out of the plain. They are now in the car and now enroute. As soon as Cherie met us she said, it is difficult to leave ha baby. She was nursing her son then. It was a very interesting day and we enjoyed a lot.
