Meeting with the extended family in Jaipur

Suresh's extended family met in Jaipur at the Gold Palace Resort. I had heard the names of many of these family members but met many for the first time here. There were forty nine people of four  generation who had come together. The different  families had  come from USA, Canada, Dubai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Shimla and Delhi and  reached the resort today. We crossed the Amer Fort to reach here. The resort is located in the outskirts of Jaipur and has a lovely ambience. Situated on the foot hills of the Aravali mountains, it has huge open lawns on all sides. As soon as we entered, we were welcomed with Rajasthan folk dance and music. In the evening every one took part in  a Program called Panchwati has got talent. With poetry recitation, story telling, dances, songs, anecdotes it was a very enjoyable evening. It was nice to hear Sri Mamaji talk about how their ancestors had created their roots in Shimla at Panchavati. I felt very happy to see the younger generation paying attention,  being connected to the past and getting to know  their roots. The lovely day spent in chatting in the lawns, near the pool, in the banquet hall  is topped by a spread of loveky Rajasthan cuisine. There is a lot of bonding taking place between the different generations and this gladens my heart.
