Araku Valley

Left for Araku valley on 2nd Novemeber, 2018. Araku valley is about 120km from Vizag and one reaches here through a beautiful train ride passing through various scenic locations and tunnels. The climate here is a little chilly and a treat  for this is the hill station of Andhra Pradesh. Spread in 181 hamlets there is a lot of tribal population and what I found interesting is that this area has not reported any maternal mortality in the recent years. Amidst the valley, I can see a lot of churches and the tribal houses being decorated with a cross. These people are settled and look a little more prosperous than the image of the tribal that many have in their minds. They have close contacts with Jagadalpur and I am quite fascinated with the worli art done in the boundary walls. The wide expanse of valleys, the hills, the greenery all around me is a feast for the eyes.
